Demon's Souls chapter 2: The tutorial boss and the realm if the small king

The Vanguard
Hey everyone it's Nathan again, here for the second installment of the Demon's Souls guide to greatness  yea got a snazzy new title for it. Anyway i could start off by going through the classes but to be honest it's pretty straight forward and I think you guys can work it out for yourselves when you get there, and im not going to do a full guide of the tutorial level because then i would be taking away the point of that level, but what i am going to do is give you a strategy for defeating the boss of that level the Vanguard.

Now in the tutorial level this guy will kill you in one hit (two if your a lucky bastard) but i found an easy way to kill him if you can keep up an ongoing strategy for a while. basically as you enter the fog door to his arena, charge straight to his left and get behind him and start attacking the shit out of him, after a few seconds he will start to turn around, as he does this start circling to his left until you see a window of opportunity for another attack and occasionally he will stop turning, raise his arms and float for a second, when he does this get the fuck away from him because hes about to ass pound on you but if you can get away from him you'll be safe so no worries. continue this strategy until that bitch dies.

Fire Breathing Bastard

So that's all you need to know about the tutorial level, now i shall move on to the realm of the small king, or the first official level. now i'm not going to ruin too much but i'm going to give you a guide to make this level easier than it was for me the first time round (insert laughs here). When you start the level you'll see a cut scene which shows  this fire breathing bastard. He will be causing you allot of trouble in the future if you don't know how to deal with him, and by that i don't mean kill him as of yet, i mean get past him to kill him on a later occasion. now as soon as you spawn in the realm turn around and go straight to the back gate and look left you will fine some full moon grass (a healing item) which will really help out throughout the level. This levels path is pretty simple, straight up the staircase, to the left follow the clear path. One quick tip along the path you will find fire bombs, do not use these, they are very useful against the boss at the end of the stage.

Right now to get to some real helpful info, as you fight through the building after you first see the soldiers that aren't soul starved zombies you'll come to a long staircase about half way up you'll hear a loud grunt at that point step back a little because otherwise you'll be set on fire by a fire bomb. then once that problems out of the way there's another staircase with another trap, this time in the form of a boulder (extreme cheering). Ok moving swiftly along you'll run into a blue eyed knight and after the fight with him you'll be drawn to go straight through the fog...don't not yet, instead go past where the fight was and through the door leading into the tower on the other side. proceed down the stairs and you will see two explosive barrels. stay away from them for now because two zombies will commit suicide with them. and then carry on, soon you will see a door leading onto a balcony with two chain on either side, destroy those chains and then continue your decent. After fending off more zombies you will see a lever at the bottom, pull it to open the doors that are next to you revealing a body with the "cling ring" on it, This is a very important item when in soul form ( the form your put into when you die in body from, the difference between the two is body form you look normal do normal damage and have a full health bar, in soul form you have a green glow about you, you do more damage and have a very small health bar, unless you have the cling ring equipped).

Ostrava
Right one more tip and i'll get to the fire breathing bastard section. After you go through the fog door after fighting the blue eyed knight you will see a platform below the wall your next to after going down the stairs, press up against the wall until you find a part you automatically jump over, you will also see a knight glowing orange, this is Ostrava he is awesome, you will love him i don't care what you say, if you don't love him you have no soul and you enjoy torturing puppies. Next to him there will be a dead body, on which will be the "Thief's ring" which makes it harder for enemies to detect you which is very useful for some situations.

Right now its time for the fire breathing bastard, this guy will cause you so much misery if you dont know the best way to get through his section, right ill make it as quick as i can because i want to get to the boss quickly. Right to start off with make sure your equip burden is below half so you can sprint and roll without any issues, you will come to a long bridge full of enemies, charge in and take on the first two, ignoring the archers, after a few seconds the dragon will swoop in, give out a roar and then light up the bridge when you hear the scream run back to the start of the bridge to the left and hide behind the wooden planks, you wont be hit if you stay there, the second the dragon stops breathing fire
charge down the bridge towards the four survivors at the end, roll past them to avoid the fire and then take the enemies down and then follow the clear path.

The Phalanx
The time has come readers, its time for the boss of this stage The Phalanx. As you can see this boss is a giant ball of black jizzy goo, and he is also protected by a shit tone of the shielded jizz balls, and this is where the fire bombs come into play,  use these to kill the shields quickly in groups and once you see a hole in the Phalanx's defense, go in for the attack (and if you have any, use turpentine).
Follow this quick and simple strategy and this boss will be no problem at all for you, good luck guys next i will be walking you through the next stages boss so see you next time guys.
